{"id":29,"date":"2010-03-24T18:34:00","date_gmt":"2010-03-24T18:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/amyandpatrickfata.com\/amysmic\/?p=29"},"modified":"2019-10-14T09:20:35","modified_gmt":"2019-10-14T13:20:35","slug":"dependence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/amyandpatrickfata.com\/amyspen\/?p=29","title":{"rendered":"Dependence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>O my God, in You I trust,<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Do not let me be ashamed;<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Do not let my enemies exult over me.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Indeed, none of those who wait for You will be ashamed;<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Those who deal treacherously without cause will be ashamed.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Make me know Your ways, O LORD;<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Teach me Your paths.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Lead me in Your truth and teach me,<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>For You are the God of my salvation;<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>For You I wait all the day (Psalm 25:1-5).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The first verse of this Psalm is a beautiful picture of David&#8217;s dependence on His heavenly Father:\u00a0<strong>&#8220;I lift up my soul.&#8221; <\/strong>There is no one I would dare lift up my soul to than the Almighty God. To be dependent on Him is a joy, a luxury in my life. We often hear the saying,<em> \u201cIf you want something done right, do it yourself.\u201d<\/em> Our society persuades people, especially women, to strive for self-sufficiency. Though I understand this mindset in certain situations, spiritually, I am completely and utterly dependent on my Savior.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I am incapable of managing my soul or dealing with the cleansing of my sin. I am completely dependent on the power of Christ working within me to accomplish anything of worth. Praise Him for the opportunity to be dependent!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul.
